Samudramanthan

Samudramanthan (Churning of the Sea) revolves around the city of Mumbai and its relationship with the sea. It explores the different ways the sea is used by the people in the city, from the fishermen who depend on it for their livelihoods, to the people who use it as an access to a free public space, to the growing reclamation of the city from the sea. This film attempts to understand how these different claims to the sea are made, and the role of the sea in life of each person within the city.
