Following the successful installation of the neoliberal regime, the download center has become a sight that is common in both urban and rural spaces within the country. These centers, often masquerading as recharge centers are media dissemination hubs where the processes of illegality, morality and crime come to life.
Jugaad becomes central as these spaces are mostly composed of informal networks where individuals innovate using little resources. The film is a look at the changes within these spaces owing to technology and the political economy, where the humble download worker becomes the figure of resistance to the capitalist systems of control over the agencies and institutions of media dissemination.This film delves into the dynamics of these download centers as they try to negotiate the intersectionalities of caste, class and gender.
