Call for Applications for a Consultant for short films
The School of Media and Cultural Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, is looking for an Editorial Consultant for the project “Girls, Youth and Gendered Access to Digital Technologies: Identifying pathways to close the Digital Divide.”
SMCS, TISS is calling for applications to hire an Editorial Consultant who will work with video footage shot by community participants of the project. There is video footage for six short films. Key tasks for the consultancy would include editing, translations, subtitling, text graphics, sound design and final mastering of these six short films. Good knowledge of Hindi, English and Marathi as well as previous experience in working with texts and translations would be preferred. The individual or agency considered suitable for the role will be called for an interview in the first week of June to discuss timelines and financial details.
The School of Media and Cultural Studies, (SMCS) of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai is engaged in media teaching, production, research and dissemination. A unique feature of the School is the close linkage between its technical and academic work. The work of the School facilitates synergy between research, teaching and production, all of which are informed by a keen sense of connection with local subaltern cultures of resistance and invention. Production is an important component of the School’s work. It has to its credit more than 35 awards for its documentary films at national and international film festivals. Its films are widely distributed and used. The School is also involved in media and cultural studies research.
