Jury’s citation: For its explorations of gender and public space through the musical form of Jugni, and its discovery of visual correlatives for the Jugni spirit.
Silver: Aman Wadhan for Prabhat Nagari
Jury’s citation: For its spare and economic formal structure, which integrates archive, location, interview and reconstructions.
Special Mention: Mayukh Ghosh and Raktim Majumdar for The Life of KC Paul
Jury’s citation: For its sheer energy, its careful respect for its unusual protagonist and its asking of one of the classic questions of documentary — whose ‘truth’ and which ‘normality’?
Gold: Vishnu Vardhan for Samyuktham
Jury’s citation: For its original story telling, its brilliant casting and performances and its witty use of obsolete technology to create a retro sci-fi world.
Silver: Yugandhara M for Khandava Parvam
Jury’s citation: For its creative re-telling of a mythological tale, and its send-ups of caste and neo-liberalism in both subtle and humorous ways.
Silver: Ruchir Arun for Mandrake Mandrake!
Jury’s citation: For its wonderful conceit of the film within the film and the magical ways in which it communicates an unabashed love of cinema.
Special Mention: Suruchi Sharma for Aaje Wagh Nahi Aave
Jury’s citation: For its imaginative script that connects the multiple make-believe worlds of a child, a parent and a grandparent, and its unexpected animated sequences.

Gold: Sushant Arora for Chidiya Udh
Jury’s citation: For its creation of a surreal atmosphere, its textures and movements, and its stunning visual commentary on the urban dystopias that we inhabit.
Silver: Aditya Javvadi for Samyuktham
Jury’s citation: For its inspired visual strategy that creates both the present and the memory space, and the intimate lighting and portraiture of its male characters.
Technical Awards: Editing
Gold: Dhanush Nayanar for Khandava Parvam
Jury’s citation: For its persuasive structuring of seemingly disparate stories and the verve with which it renders the theatrical cinematic.
Silver: Phani Kiran Damara for Firdaus
Jury’s citation: For the way in which it complements the visual choreography and deepens the sense of violence that simmers beneath the surface.
Technical Awards: Sound Design
Gold: Gautam Nair for Chidiya Udh
Jury’s citation: For its layered soundscape that adds to the sense of alienation and longing, for instance, in its distorted use of the lullaby “Aaja Ri Aa.”
Silver: Sushmit Nath for A Dream Animal
Jury’s citation: For the manner in which it is driven by its exploration in the realm of listening, and its use of sounds to create a sense of the elusive animal.
