About the Film
Begamon ka Bhopal is an ode to the times that once existed in Bhopal, through an everyday nostalgia that is lived by a writer, a film keeper and royal descendants. Each in their own way hold onto time and thus become it. Through a lyrical, musical and an introspective journey the film tries to create an emotion, huzun, a word in persian that means, a nostalgia that is hard to describe.
About the Filmmaker
Rachita Gorawal, a software engineer turned filmmaker from Bhopal was a student of Xavier Institute of Communications before joining FTII, Pune to pursue video editing. She has worked on various public service advertisements, trailers and short films. Begamon ka Bhopal is her first short film in the genre of poetic-realism.
The director will be present for a discussion after the screening.
